Week 2 of your journaling course

You are a week into your journaling and may be wondering where to find some inspiration…. Here are some kickstarts

Kickstarts

Kick-starts are like the questions in the structured writing style and are ways as the name implies to kick-start your writing.

  • One of the simplest kick-starts is to write a to-do list or a sizzle list
  • Quotations
  • Proverbs
  • Commenting on the news
  • Create a list of prompts:-
  • Today I want to accomplish
  • The most important thing to me right now is
  • How do I feel about?
  • I am happiest when
  • My greatest achievement is

Create your Sizzle list

What’s most important to you? What deserves more of your time? What do you want to be or do in your lifetime? What, when you think about it really makes you sizzle?
Your sizzle list is basically a to-do list, with a difference as it contains things that truly affect your life. They will be areas you want to explore more deeply. The ones that will make a difference to your life!

Put your sizzle list into a priority order and when you are stuck for inspiration, pick a topic and write what and reflect on what is it about that item that is really important to you.

Looking for inspiration – quotes, proverbs, books, magazines

Sometimes what I do to get myself started is to go and pick up a book or magazine, close my eyes open the book or magazine at any random page and point my finger. Where my finger lands I will read what is there and use one of the words or sentence structures and start writing about what I have found. Go and find your book or magazine, close your eyes.  Write down the sentence that your finger lands and carry on writing…..

  • Explore what provokes your emotions, what do you hear, see, feel, smell or taste, what does this item mean to you?
  • Where does it take you?

Carry one journalling!

Kind Regards
