The updated Directive came into force on 26 May 2011, which means all EU countries should have brought the new requirements over cookie usage into law. The UK government has deferred the new directive requirements for a year while they try to work out a common sense way for UK businesses to comply with the updated Directive requirements. If and when this becomes law, you may see a pop up with these words on every site you visit and will have to install a cookie opt-in your-self. At present this site does not use the pop up, but will as soon as the law is set.
